A wonderful vintage pendant from the 1940s-1950s! Made of 14kt yellow gold, the pendant has a colorful enamel surface with an equestrian fox hunt motif. The hand-painted images are highly detailed, depicting a two riders on horseback and three hunting hounds that race ahead. Both riders wear traditional riding attire with red caps and jackets, white breeches, and tall black riding boots. Completing the scene is the lush green countryside, with the horses and hounds shown in unpainted yellow gold. A cutout space at the top suggests the open sky, and a gold frame hugs the outside of the piece. The pendant hangs from a gold ring at the top, and is finished with a fine engine-turned pattern on the back. This artistic vintage piece is perfect for the equestrian enthusiast and would look wonderful worn on a favorite gold chain !
Measurements: The pendant hangs 1 1/8" long (including the ring at the top), has a 7/8" diameter, and is 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or painted enamel image, and the ring for hanging is secure.
